Donations

Adventists recognize that God claims 10 percent (10%) of our income as His own, and so we faithfully return His tithe to the “storehouse” (Mal. 3:10). After tithing, we give offerings according to our blessings and generosity (2 Cor. 7:6-8).

There is indication in the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy that regularity and proportionality are good principles to follow. We are, therefore, encouraged that our offerings be a regular percentage of our income. We call this kind of giving a “PROMISE.” Giving to those in need or to other projects may take place in addition to this. In this way, God has led us to fund the global mission of the church.

Whichever way you use to return your tithes and offerings (as outlined below) it is important to clearly identify where you want your financial support to go.

There are various options:

1. E-Giving - This is our preferred method of giving. This is done through either the website https://egiving.org.au/ or mobile app ‘EGiving’. If you need assistance in learning how to utilize this site please send us a message. You can schedule this to come out automatically on weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or quarter period or go online each time to give. It is very quick, safe and easy.

2. Direct Debit - For those who prefer internet banking our account details are The Seventh Day Adventist Church Nelson, Westpac, 03 0703 0294359 00. Clearly identify who you are and the breakdown of what the amount is for eg: tithe, budget, Hope TV, etc.

3. Tithe & Offering Envelopes - These are available in the foyer. Please remember to clearly mark and identify where you want your monies to go. If you want to donate money to the offering of the day please identify this clearly on the envelope.

4. Offering Bag - This is the bag that goes around during the church service. The monies placed in this bag go to the offering of the day which is displayed on the screen at the front as the offering is about to be collected. It is into this that you place your tithe envelopes, cash/cheque, donation for that day.

Monies given through any of the above-mentioned ways are mostly tax deductible at the rate of 30% and this applies to all of your tithe/donations/offerings. As long as you have identified who you are, at the end of the financial year, we will generate a Tax Deductible Certificate for you to claim against your Tax Return.

Thank you for your generous support of the Lord’s work, and if you have any questions feel free to talk to us.
